Day 26: Zecchino: a zucchini flavored coffee drink.

I DID IT!! WooHOO! I finished the challenge *happy dances* Go Me! Not only have I completed something, but this blog is my 200th!!! Freak.Me.Out.

When I originally started blogging (2006 MySpace), I was just writing thoughts, rambles, and weird poetry. Over the last couple of years, I have dedicated posts to Flash Fiction. It's been a nice breath of fresh air this last month, just posting random. It's been a lot of fun, and I have to say, It's made me want to write more... we'll see.

You still have time to post your definitions (I will not consider any definitions posted after Midnight May 1-technically May 2). As per my initial post, I'm going to draw a letter out of  a hat (or plastic baggie with my eyes closed). I'll take your definitions on that post along with a poll (posting Monday, May 2), take a few days to collect votes, and the winner will receive an Amazon Gift card for a Whopping $26 (that's a dollar a day for the A to Z Challenge)--this card will be emailed to the winner to use immediately :-).

For shitz and gigglez, I'm going to post my definitions vs the real deal tomorrow. This should be eye-opening since I've incorporated these words (and my definitions) into my day-to-day life. Kind of sad really.

We'll what are you waiting for; post your definition in the comments for your chance to win!

Day 24: Xeric: My robot boyfriend... scratch that--my EX robot boyfriend.

I broke up with him because I just didn't get his "Emo" phase. Maybe it was the skinny jeans...

I can't believe I've almost completed this challenge--just two more days! wooHOO! Pretty impressive; as I'm not a big finisher.

I know I said I would post the contest stuff on the first, but that would be a Sunday. I am pretty sure you won't stop by and read on Sunday, so I am going to do a fun recap on the first and post the poll for your chance to win on Tuesday (the 2nd).

ANYway...

More on that later. Until then, here's some hot robot lovin'.

Leave your definition in the comments for your chance to win. You should also go back and leave definitions on the other posts (if you're going to) because after Sunday, you won't be able to qualify for the contest :-P.

(read about the project and accompanying contest)

Day 21: Umbo: vegetarian gumbo

Some versions can be confused with dirty dish water.

This is one of those times I don't suggest pureeing the veggies to try to trick the kiddies -- Umbo (and Gumbo) is a dish that should be enjoyed by adults ONLY during "adult time"*...

So, if you're not doing anything (or if you are BUT want to be a part of something so magical and wonderful--it will surely be a catalyst for world peace), come submit your photos, and get a fancy badge -- IMPRESS ALL YOUR FRIENDS.

Check out some of the treasures I found online:

Peep Sushi

Peep Marital Bliss

Peep Sunflowers... awe

Hell yes! Peep S'mores

Kemari, Sam, and I are posting our contributions tomorrow. I will be posting many more photos on our Facebook page. Reader photos will be voted on, and bragging rights will be shared by all.

Day 18: Rebozo: Oh this one is easy, and not necessarily a define-able word, but a person. It's Max Rebo's (who's real name is Siiruulian Phantelesister's-boyfriend's-cousin's-uncle's little kid--named, in fact, after Max Rebo, but he never learned to play the red ball organ like his namesake.

I searched for an image of Rebozo but apparently his profile is protected on Facebook.I imagine he looked something like this:

Let's just say, this is a bio-structure created in a lab--that's it! That's all I can comfortably tell you--maybe a few hints posted below.

Day 15: Omphaloskepsis: The scientific word used to describe a smaller than average person with a slightly orange complexion and abnormally green hair. Native to Loompaland.

In the early 1900s, Loompaland, was raided by tyrants who were able to smuggle these bite-size humanoids into the US virtually undetected. They have been traded/sold for years via black market and later, in more recent years, on ebay.

Young native of Loompaland in his natural state

While this natural anomaly is slowing phasing out, certain traits are still recognizable in this "Melting Pot" that makes up today's outstanding US citizens.
