NaNo Journal: October 31, 2011

October 31, 2011

Well, it's almost here, and of course I'm trying not to stress out. I lost a whole week of planning to Strep Throat, and I still don't feel like myself.

I just thought if I were prepared--if I had everything planned out, I would more than likely stay on track and finish this year. Oh well. I will fly by the seat of my pants if I have to. It's more my style anyway.

As the hour draws nearer, I'm getting excited. I finally figured out where I'm going to start my story. It hit me today as I was sitting in my car waiting on kids. I've been playing with a few ideas, but nothing felt quite right until now--I could kick myself for not thinking of this sooner.

My NaNo project is going to focus on my Eden Collection of stories, following Brian Oldham as he steps into his predetermined role within the society that "knows what's best"... Ends will be tied, secrets revealed, and the empire will waiver. I can' wait to start writing it.

I'm planning to kick off NaNo at Midnight, and at least write for an hour before calling it a night. We'll see how it goes.

Good Luck, Wrimos!

Gearing Up for NaNoWriMo

I've been a very busy girl! Between work, family, and book reviews on Easily Mused, I'm organizing notes, building character sheets, and outlining a story.. for NaNoWriMo.

Diving back into Eden Corp for this years novel,  I hope to make some serious headway. These characters have been with me for almost 3 years now, and they're dying to get out of my head. I've yet to finish 50K words in November, but I'm hoping this is the year I do--third time's a charm!

On top of writing a novel in November, I will also be blogging every day--journaling the writing process. It's going to be a quick post. I haven't quite decided on the format, but I have made a nifty banner that will head each journal entry.

My emo roots will probably show quite a bit in these posts, so you might want to look away.. or have a laugh.

Are you participating in NaNoWriMo this year? What are you writing?
