Apoc-Zen Project: Umbo

Apocryphal Zenzizenzizenzic is an old Latin phrase referring to someone who has the uncanny ability to define obscure words with pinpoint accuracy.

NOT!

Day 21: Umbo: vegetarian gumbo

Some versions can be confused with dirty dish water.

This is one of those times I don't suggest pureeing the veggies to try to trick the kiddies -- Umbo (and Gumbo) is a dish that should be enjoyed by adults ONLY during "adult time"*...

We'll you've got my definition. What's yours? (leave it in the comments for your chance to win)

  1. That gumbo looks DELISH. Seriously delish. Like better than leftover turkey delish.
Umbo, though, that's an okra of a different colour.
I'm guessing umbo is language spoken so poorly that even mumbo-jumpo is clear by comparison.

  2. Umbo is typical Rebozo style . When he's "chilling" & laid-back , together with his blonde bimbo , they're both in limbo . In this state he's full of mumbo jumbo , which makes him a dumbo umbo !!
(I dunno if you can make sense of that?)

  3. Zombies named this dish without a consonant in front or back, since they tend to get stuck on the first and last letters in their speech.

  4. A pessimistic version of being in limbo.

  5. Cathy - I'm fluent in mumbo-jumbo

Mish - I would like to hear your definition with music.

Laura - Makes PERFECT sense... I'm kinda upset with myself for not thinking of it (zombies) :-)

Allison - I want to think limbo between worlds, but I keep singing Umbo lower now... how low can you go.

  6. I am not creative at all! All your other readers beat me to the good answers - some that I wouldn't have thought of before reading them ;-)
