Allison's Sippable Stories

The A to Z challenge in April was so much fun, it made me want to write more (working on it). I also met some awesome new bloggers. Take for example the amazingly clever AND witty, Allison. She posted definitions throughout the month--I think she actually posted EVERY day, and won my challenge. YAY!

During the challege, Allison didn't take the easy route like I did--she posted well-thought and inspiring entries. You need to check out her blog, but also read her guest post below :-).

Isn't it funny that I have a blog that's all me, Me, ME! but find it so hard to talk about myself? I post my spin on books, writing, the pathetic-yet-humorous happenings of daily life, but when it comes to talking about myself, I blank. Which probably works out best for you, dear readers, because that means this will be short and sweet.

I recently started a weekly feature, Sippable Stories, which I post every Sunday. I write a short story on a chalkboard coffee mug; many of them are Six Sentences I never submitted, or 55-word exercises I did for my writing group. It's challenging to write such a short, somewhat-complete piece… and it's also challenging to write legibly on a coffee mug. (I have horrendous handwriting no matter what the surface is.)

I'm hoping the feature will generate enough interest for me to open it up to submissions soon, so please come on over and check out Sippable Stories; I'd love to hear your feedback!

  2. I read her blog the other day, and it brought me back to our days in college. We used to have a chalkboard as our living room wall, but this is even better. What have you thought of for your story prompt?
