Apocryphal Zenzizenzizenzic Project: Demisemiquaver

Apocryphal Zenzizenzizenzic is an old Latin phrase referring to someone who has the uncanny ability to define obscure words with pinpoint accuracy.

NOT!

Day 4: Demisemiquaver: the uncertainty of pleasure.

As with many things, the finer things in life can be difficult to determine. Take for example the bacon-chocolate chip cookies we posted on Attack of the Foodies (B is for Bacon): Are they savory, or are they sweet? How am I suppose to enjoy these when I am not really sure what I should be enjoying?

It's the "kinda-sorta-maybe-I don't really know how to feel about it" of experiences.

If it lasts more than four hours, you should seek medical attention.

We'll you've got my definition. What's yours? (leave it in the comments for your chance to win)

  1. This is so awesome.

I can't think of an alternative definition because yours is so good. Aaannd I've been up all night learning drugs.

Maybe demisemiquaver is the shaking of my hands after epic lucubricating.

  4. Oh man, your definition is pretty perfect! I think I'll have to stick with it, but apply it to my word-chain - demisemiquaver is how you feel when you finally get the cofferdam after the night of Ambeer and "BREGMA!": it tastes soooo good, but rich cofferdamn on a stomach recovering from Ambeer... it's a bit demisemiquavery until lunch.

  5. Haha! This site is hilarious! I'm actually more interested to see what Allison's word chain looks like in 2 weeks!
Anyway, was racking my brain to come up with something clever, when I felt a demisemiquaver somewhere in the base of my skull. So unfortunately, I have no definition today.
And I think it's hemorrhaging now. Gotta go.

  6. Demisemiquaver: When a Greek hits a high note, the resulting tremor is known to rupture spleens in Athens. There are pills available for this condition; see also Nana Mouskouri.
